| Our Explorer trips are geared for first time rafters, families with
small children, and those searching for a mildly adventurous experience.
A great introduction to rafting in the Rockies.
Lower Roaring Fork - A wonderful early season introduction into the world of whitewater rafting. We will be putting in near Carbondale and traveling in the shadow of 12,953 ft. Mount Sopris. The water is rated a Class II, with a section of Class III rapids named "Cemetery" thrown in for a splash of excitement. A 30 minute drive from Aspen, we will spend approximately 2 hours on the water. Snack included.
Grizzly Creek, Colorado River - A wonderful choice for families or those not sure about the Shoshone rapids. With this option, Mom and Dad can run the Shoshone rapids and, afterwards the kids will join you at Grizzly Creek. This trip by-passes the larger rapids of the "Shoshone" trip (see listing under "Expeditions Series"), but still includes the epic scenery of Glenwood Canyon.

A classic mid-summer adventure that features everything from Class III rapids like "Man-eater" and "Tombstone", to the wild west scenery of Glenwood Canyon.
